A third option at end of lease

The new option is taken on more than 40 percent of expiring contracts. It came out of discovery and an A/B test, not out of a meeting.

A third option at end of lease

The situation

Germany's leading corporate bike leasing provider. When a 36-month lease ends, customers had two options: return the bike or buy it out. The company wanted a third one, and nobody owned it yet.

What I owned

  • Framed the decision customers face at the end of a lease, from discovery with real customers.
  • Specified a follow-on lease: same bike for another 24 months at a lower rate, insurance and service unchanged, a much lower buyout afterwards.
  • Product concept, roadmap, prioritised backlog and go-to-market approach, agreed across business, legal and development.

Why it matters for you

Monetisation of the existing base, longer contract life, no new acquisition cost. The kind of number an investor can underwrite.

Next: DICTUM, structured experimentation on a live shop. Or all work.
