Who this is for

Your product owner left, is on leave, or a launch window needs more hands than the team has for six weeks. You need somebody who has done the first ninety days seven times and can be useful in the first week.

What happens

  1. Day 1 to 3Access, context, and the current backlog. I take the standups and the refinement from the first week.
  2. Week 2 onwardsRunning the area in your cadence: prioritisation, specs, release scope, stakeholder questions.
  3. ExitA written handover to the returning or new owner, plus the decision log from the cover period.

What you get

  • A product owner in the seat within days.
  • Booked by the day, billed monthly.
  • The same weekly written check-in as on a retainer.
  • A handover document at the end.

Terms

Retainers run for a minimum of three months. A six-month commitment reduces the rate by 8 percent, quarterly prepayment by 5 percent. All figures net, plus VAT. Access to your tools and documents from day one is part of the agreement, as is the weekly written check-in. Days are spread across the month, in your cadence.

FAQ

Questions that come up on the first call.

How short notice?

Usually within a week, depending on what is running. Ask.

Is there a minimum?

No minimum term. Ten days is the smallest cover that makes sense; below that the onboarding costs more than it saves.

Can a cover turn into a retainer?

Yes. Days already worked count against the first month of Focus or Core.

Not sure Interim cover and peaks is the right size?
